AKILI BORA
Explore - Heal - Transform
Welcome to AKILI BORA.
I am Audrey and I am glad you have found me - just looking was a brave and important first step.
I imagine you have arrived here because you, or someone close to you, are struggling with something that may benefit from therapeutic counselling. I want you to feel reassured you are entering a safe space - I am confident we can help you to free your mind - to explore, heal and transform.
‘Akili Bora’ is Swahili for a better mind which what we aspire you for. We are a counselling service dedicated to supporting clients whose thoughts, fears and anxieties prevent them from living their desired life.
An essential requirement for effective counselling compatibility of the client and the counsellor. I strive for this to be a professional and trusting relationship. You and I can talk about this at the initial consultation which, you will see, is free.
Stroll around these pages and you will learn about the Akili Bora network, the approaches we offer, and you can choose, to support you.
If you have any questions, or want to explore what you have read, get in touch and I will get back to you.

Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is a way to get help with emotional or mental health struggles through conversations with a trained therapist. You might also hear it called talk therapy, counselling, or simply therapy. It’s a safe, supportive space where you can talk openly about your thoughts and feelings, and work through life’s challenges.
There are different types of therapy, each with its own approach to helping you feel better. Whether it’s helping you change unhelpful thought patterns or exploring deeper emotional experiences, therapy can provide the tools you need to heal, grow, and move forward.

Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy uses relaxation techniques to help you focus deeply and tune out distractions, similar to getting lost in a book or movie. In this calm, focused state, a trained hypnotherapist guides you to explore your thoughts and make positive changes, like managing stress or pain, or developing new habits. Over time, you’ll learn to use these techniques on your own for greater control over your thoughts and emotions.
